## Job Description
The Culinary & Nutritional Service Worker I is responsible for providing assistance in all dietary functions as directed by the Director of Culinary & Nutritional Services and in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing the facility and in accordance with established dietary practices.
_Essential Activities & Tasks_
Expectations Management
Performs day-to-day dietary functions to serve meals and snacks that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
Assists in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis. Deliver food carts, trays, etc. to designated areas.
Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established assignments. Clean work stations, counters, refrigerators/freezers, etc. Sweep and mop floors as directed. Wash and clean utensils, pots, pans, bowls, etc. and return cleaned items to proper storage areas. Remove garbage and keep work areas clean, dry, and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
Distributes, collects, and counts menus as necessary.
Quality, Compliance Management & Risk Management
Assures that established quality assurance, infection control, and universal precaution practices are maintained when performing dietary procedures.
Actively participates in quality improvement activities such as: quality assurance task force groups, problem solving sessions, and streamlining projects.
Reports any repairs needing done to immediate supervisor.
Attends in-service and All Employee Meetings monthly.
Willingly and consistently shares opinions and observations of departmental operations with supervisor.
Customer Relations & Service Delivery
Listens and responds to residents and their needs.
Maintains the confidentiality of resident information and honors the residents personal and property rights.
Administration & Reporting
Maintains current and accurate records through use of computers and/or paper/chart documentation in accordance with corporate policies, federal, state, and local guidelines.
_Qualifications Required_
Education
Must possess as a minimum, a tenth grade education.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Experience
None required. On-the-job training provided.
